West Lancashire Borough Council has put a revised Local Plan out for consultation. The plans show a huge increase in housing and will affect some of the best farming land and green belt in the heart of West Lancashire. The revised thirty year plan proposed by the Labour administration will see swathes of prime farming land turned into housing estates.

Date for Ormskirk Christmas lights revealed and it may surprise you!

Christmas is coming up so quickly and soon it will be time for the lights to be switched on. This year Ormskirk will be having more lights than usual after winning a competition to brighten up the town. West Lancs Borough Council have decided to move the Christmas light switch on from the traditional Friday night to a Sunday afternoon.

Craig Warren, 18, from Burscough was last seen by a family member on Friday 17th August in the Waterloo area of Merseyside. Aside from Lancashire, he has links to Merseyside & North Wales. Sex offender has been missing in Lancashire since August 2nd – Police appeal

Police are seeking information after a 45-year-old convicted sex offender has gone missing at an address in Clitheroe on August 2. He has also failed to attend probation appointments. Norman Ormerod was convicted of making indecent images of children in 2011 and 2015.   Ormerod has links to Lancashire and Cumbria and may have travelled to the North Yorkshire or Humberside
