Scouts set to parade for St George’s Day celebrations
On Sunday 28th April, Ormskirk and District Scout groups will hold their annual St George’s Day Parade.
Starting from St Anne’s school at approx 1.50pm, they will turn left onto Aughton Street and proceed up Aughton Street past Dyers Lane, Park Avenue, Queen Street and Bridge Street. The parade will continue past the traffic lights at the junction of Park Road and Aughton Street. The parade will continue along the pedestrianised area and proceed along Aughton Street turning left onto Church street. The parade will then turn left onto Park road for approx 100 meters before turning right into Park Pool carpark.
Once at the park the hundreds of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer units as well as the volunteer leaders will say prayers, sing hymns and songs to commemorate the Patron saint of England, St George.
All are welcome to join the Scout groups at Coronation Park and to commemorate St George. The Scout groups will be collecting on behalf of shelterbox and all donations would be gratefully received.
