Ormskirk 10k a runaway success
The people of Ormskirk cheered, clapped and encouraged the three hundred plus runners taking part in the 10k race on Sunday 23rd September. The race started at Ormskirk Cricket Club and the runners made their way out of the cricket ground and along Altys Lane, onto Catherine’s Lane, then Poppy Lane before heading down Scarth Hill to run another loop of Catherine’s Lane back to Scarth Hill. The finish was also at the Cricket Club and saw lots of people racing to shave seconds off their times.
The weather was nearly perfect for the competitors, with sunshine, a little wind but there was a cold nip in the air too.
The race was won by Adam Jones in a time of 35 minutes and 44 seconds, he was followed by Chris Millington and Nathan Woods all under 36 minutes. The first female runner was Natasha Sheel in 39 minutes and 19 seconds and she was followed by Danielle Brearton and Jennifer Houghton.
Here are all the results from the 313 runners, well done!
