Ormskirk’s Park pool could be demolished and so could Nye Bevan in Skem.
West Lancs Brough Council is looking at the feasibility of replacing the 40-year-old pools in Ormskirk and Skelmersdale.
Plans are being considered to demolish Park Pool and Nye Bevan Pool and replace them with new up-to-date facilities.
West Lancs Council faced a massive backlash after plans in 2015 revealed that Park Pool could close if the facilities at Edge Hill University became popular with local residents. Over 1,000 locals signed a petition and the plans were shelved.
There will be a consultation launched towards the end of 2018 by West Lancashire Brough Council on the proposals to demolish Park Pool and Nye Bevan. They would replace them with updated facilities for the benefit of the local people. Plans would also see investment in Burscough Fitness and Racquets Centre.
