Skelmersdale man held on suspicion of murder after crash

Merseyside Police have confirmed that two people were arrested on Wednesday, 18 July in connection with the 2016 murder of Blake Brown.

The pair, a 31-year-old man from Skelmersdale and a 37-year-old woman from Fazakerley, were arrested on Wednesday afternoon on Queens Drive in Clubmoor. The arrests occurred following a road traffic collision at around 4.20pm.

The Skelmersdale man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and the woman, assisting an offender. The pair have been taken into police custody for questioning.

Blake Brown, from Croxteth, was murdered in October 2016 in Aigburth. The shooting took place near St Michael’s train station on Southwood Road and the 30-year-old was shot in the head.

Merseyside Police have questioned several people since his killing on suspicion of murder but no-one has been charged in connection with his murder.
