Two local cyclists attempt to ride over half way up Mount Everest

Two local cyclists from Middleton cycling are attempting to travel 370 miles in just 4 days to raise money for a charity close to their hearts. This us the same as riding three-quarters of the way up Mount Everest.

Alan Lomax and Matt Newman accepted the challenge of raising awareness and funds for Bloodwise (Formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research).

Bloodwise is very close to Matt’s heart after he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2013. He underwent three years of treatment and is now in remission. The two decided that they would attempt to cycle 370 miles from Aberdeen to Skelmersdale in 4 days. That’s over 22,000 feet of climbing which is ¾ the height of Everest!
If people to like to get on board and donate what they can afford for Blood Cancer Research then the punishing ride would be worth the painful legs!
