Police appeal for witnesses after crash in Skelmersdale

Skelmersdale Police are appealing for information after a motorbike rider suffered serious injuries in a crash in Skelmersdale.

The 43 year old man, from Skelmersdale, was riding his Kawasaki ZX900cc on Gillibrands Road at about 12.45pm today (Saturday, May 12th) when he lost control of the vehicle and fell off.

The man suffered multiple fractures and was taken by ambulance to Aintree Hospital where his injuries are described as serious.

Gillibrands Road was closed for about three hours for accident investigation.

Sgt Steve Hardman, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Road Policing Unit, said: “This was a serious collision which has left a man with significant injuries and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to police to come forward.”
