Police appeal for witnesses after daylight knifepoint robbery

Local Police are appealing for witnesses after a knifepoint robbery on Monday afternoon.

Around 3.20pm Monday, June 24th, a 36-year-old man was walking with another man in Firbeck, Skelmersdale when they were approached by two men on the footpath close to the dentist surgery.

One of the men was carrying a knife and threatened the victim demanding cash. The 36-year-old man handed over £200 before the pair made off from the scene towards the Ecumenical Centre.

The offenders are described as white, wearing dark clothing and with their faces covered.

Detectives are appealing for information in connection with the incident.

Det Con Rachael Taylor-Gore, of Skelmersdale CID, said: “We’re urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

“This robbery took place in broad daylight and I believe someone must know who the offenders are.”
